Twilight in the forest cathedral
the forest just before dusk is like a
cathedral
full of shine and God
the nave up to the horizon
tall columns of hardy pines
a vault from the hazy sky slowly sloping
over
treetops
light glows obliquely between the trunks
red as through the pieces of cathedral
stained glass,
just before dusk the forest becomes
quiet
The Holy Spirit in thousands of chirping
particles falls asleep
in hollows and nests,
he leaves us with the gift of tongues
,
at last
we are able to talk to each other
