may we wash sand
burning under the sun’s wrath
in snow in mountain ranges of the east
blood flowing in hot springs
from the heart dripping down to the head

as our noses smell rotten flesh & dry bones
with the sands we left our footprints on
as we ran from rabid dogs home one night
hunting for the moon far & beyond horizons.
